Excursions
Crossing Mont-Rebei
The cliff of Mont-Rebei is one of the most attractive proposals of this zone. Standing on a natural reserve for birds, the excursionist can admire how the Noguera Ribagorzana river cuts, as if it were an axe, the mountain range, leaving the Montsec de l'Estall to its right, and the Montsec d'Ares to its left; this division coincides with the line that now separates Aragón from Catalunya. One can travel through the route, without the possibility of getting lost, following the tracks clearly indicated of the historical GR11.
Mountain Bike (BTT)And for those who love the bicycles, the Montsec offers a great amount of itineraries that cross the mountain range, and allow admiring its incredible rocky structures. Departing from Àger and going around the mountain; getting to the Coll d'Ares, surpassing a difference of levels of 1000 meters with the reward of being able to admire the whole Catalan and Aragon Pyrenees; or even to cross on a bike the cliff of Mont-Rebei (this impressive cut on the rock not recommended for those with giddiness), are just some of the possibilities.
On the water:
The marsh of Rialb is the ideal scenery for the practice of aquatic sports, such as canoe sailing, sailing and fishing. The practice of these sports is almost a tradition in the zone. It is not rare to find different groups of friends trying to recover a canoe along the Segre River, or taking pictures of themselves with some of the trouts of its waters.
Gastronomy:
The town of Artesa de Segre, a few kilometres away from the Masia Els Arquells, is a point of reference of the gastronomy of the region. En Artesa you can visit the weekly market that takes place every Sunday in the Plaza Mayor. It is worthy to emphasize that the sausages are the proud of the region. The weekly markets of the towns of the region give the visitor the possibility of purchasing the typical products: bread, cakes, wine, oil, etc.
Equipments of "La Masia Els Arquells":
It has a space with a ping-pong table, a table football set and bicycles to go around the zone. The fenced garden that surrounds the Masía has an outstanding swimming pool, with hammocks and a shaded zone. It is surrounded by different planted flowers, ornamental plants, and a zone for barbecue with tables and chairs.
